Dereck Chisora and Dillian Whyte meet for the second time in the ring, two years after their first fight. This is a long standing rivalry between the two British heavyweights. The victor of this bout may next face Anthony Joshua at Wembley Stadium on April 13th with the 29-year-old putting his IBF, WBA and WBO titles on the line.

when is it

Saturday 22nd December.

With the undercard starting at 6pm UK time, the ring walks
for the main event are expected to commence at roughly 10pm UK time.

Where is it?

It is back to London’s O2 Arena.

Have they ever met before?

Whyte defeated Chisora in a controversial split decision in a gripping encounter at the Manchester Arena in December 2016. The three judges’ scoreboards read at 115-113, 115-114, 114-115.

What are they saying?

Ahead of Saturday’s match-up, Whyte recently reflected on the heated history with his opponent, in particular the press conference leading up to the 2016 fight with Chisora throwing a table at the 30-year-old.

“I said a few things and he snapped. I’m cool. My energy is good, it is directed at training hard. It doesn’t matter if he throws a table at me or not.”

Meanwhile, Chisora issued a bizarre threat at Whyte when the pair sat opposite each other for Sky Sports’ ‘The Gloves Are Off’ preview.

“If you’ve ever taken those laxative pills, you know the ones you take, you wait for 20 minutes, and then you go to the toilet, they go through you.

“I’m going to go through this man.”

What is our prediction?

It was a battle royale first time round between Whyte and Chisora. They left it all in the ring. This time they are both in fantastic shape and I expect Whyte, who has shown great improvements this year, to outbox Chisora and stop him in the late rounds.

There is so much on the line for Whyte who, if he wins, may well end up facing Anthony Joshua for three of the world title belts at Wembley on April 13. Whyte on points or by stoppage rounds 8-12.
